Valentine’s Day in Lockdown

Five ways to share the love

Before quarantining was even a thing, many couples preferred to celebrate Valentine’s Day at home. There could be two reasons for this. One, to avoid the expense of a restaurant meal and two, Valentine’s night out can feel rather impersonal when you’re sharing a room with twenty other couples! With just ten days until the loved up calendar date, it’s a great time to plan ahead for the big night.

There are lots of fun date night options for staying in. The trick, whether planning a date or being in a relationship, is to really commit to it. Go all out with the décor, your outfits, the food and the drink. Vegan Green Bee shares five different options for a memorable Valentine’s Day in lockdown.

Start the day with Breakfast in Bed

Breakfast in bed becomes special when you take it to the next level. Indulge each other with a huge spread of your favourite things on a tray decorated with scattered rose petals. Make a big plate of fluffy pancakes, top them with fresh blueberries and strawberries and drizzle over some of our delicious Organic Honey Alternative. Make sure there’s plenty of freshly brewed coffee and copies of your favourite newspaper or magazine.

Have a home spa

We’re all missing being able to disappear off for a spa weekend so get pampering yourselves at home. Light one of our Relaxing Candles with Lavender, Bergamot & Lime and feel the mood mellow. Handmade from the finest sustainable soy wax and premium essential oils, our candles are 100% vegan, non-toxic and cruelty-free. Fill the bath with bubbles, lie back and let your thoughts drift away.

Wrap up warmly and watch the stars

Bee wax Free

A February night is going to be chilly but not if you dress up in your warmest coats, hats and scarves. Light up the fire pit, string up some outdoor fairy lights and indulge in a bit of star gazing. Uncork a bottle of warming red wine and have some oozy, toasted marshmallows. Listen to some romantic music on an outdoor speaker and you’ll both be in the mood for love!

Socially distanced double date

We’re all missing our friends right now so why not have a double date on Zoom with a couple of your favourite friends? Both order the same grazing box of artisan cheeses, our Brave Chutney and an expensive bottle of wine, email each other the tasting notes in advance and make this the focus of your double date.
